Maciej Witucki, the long-time President of Orange Polska, will take the helm at the listed Work Service.
The former President of Lukas Bank, and later the long-time head of Orange Polska, contrary to circulating rumors, definitely rejected the possibility of working for a state-owned company. For a branch of a major foreign corporation — as well.
"I have already worked in a corporation and I want to try something new. Looking for new challenges, I considered only two options: working for a mature Polish family business or going abroad," says Maciej Witucki.
The second scenario almost came true — the manager was one step away from moving to Asia, but the potential employer got into trouble and changed plans. He therefore decided without hesitation to accept the proposal to become the President of Work Service. On Thursday, the Supervisory Board decided that from January 1st he will replace Tomasz Hanczarek at the helm of the listed HR company (the outgoing President and co-founder will move to the Supervisory Board). He knows the company well, as he has served on its supervisory board for two years.
"This is a breakthrough moment — we have become an international company, we will soon be listed on two stock exchanges, which requires a change in the management method. We decided that we need a President from the outside. We prepared for two years, inviting well-known managers to the Supervisory Board; we learned from them, but at the same time, we wanted to get to know and check how we work together. We are convinced that Maciej Witucki fits the company perfectly. He is a manager from the top 20 list in Poland. We have known each other for years. I know that he motivates and integrates the team great; to this day, once a year he meets with people with whom he worked at Lukas Bank. And in our business, people are key," says Tomasz Misiak, one of the founders and head of the Supervisory Board of Work Service.
"PB" established that Maciej Witucki has reached an agreement with the French side and remains on the Supervisory Board of Orange.
